I haven’t done a favorite place post for quite some time, so I needed to think of something special. There are so many rooms and places in friends houses that I love, but with Labor Day coming up, it got me thinking of 3 day weekends and relaxation. I don’t know about you, but when think I of relaxing, my mind goes to a beach or a POOL.
So today, I am featuring one of my favorite pools in the neighborhood….. or anywhere for that matter.
Paul and Jenny’s backyard feels more like a resort than suburbia and that is what they were aiming for. They are originally from the UK and it was hard and expensive to get back home with two tween boys. They also knew that they weren’t the type to buy a lake house, but still wanted a place to relax and kick back, so they designed a pool to fit exactly what they were looking for.
I love the fountains and the clean lines in Paul and Jenny’s pool. They also have a prime treed lot with no houses behind them, so they have plenty of privacy and a large yard for the boys to play.
The Hunts worked hard designing the pool and the cabana. They had the builder of their home, design and build it with their input and suggestions.
Patrick and I came home after I took pictures, went to our backyard and thought, “Where can we put a cabana?” We absolutely loved it! (But who wouldn’t?)
A view inside the cabana. The Hunts spend much of their time in the backyard and get to use it 8-9 months of the year. The big screen inside is a great place to watch games and hang out with family and friends. There is plenty of refrigerator space, a sink and an ice machine; everything you need for a get together.
On the right side of the cabana, facing the trees, is the full bathroom, complete with shower. This is nice because they can contain the party outside. (No wet feet in the house!)
Are we in a Mexican Resort or Overland Park, Kansas??? Even the bathroom is beautiful!
The fire pit is off to the side of the pool; perfect for cool evening or night time gatherings.
My boys would love the basketball hoop! Here you can also see the back of Paul and Jenny’s house. I love how the cabana is just an extension of the house in its look and design.
Thank you to the Hunt Family for letting us spend Sunday Funday with you! We had so much fun and I can’t imagine finding a better place to relax and have fun with friends!
